Job Description

About the role:

Our company is seeking a Billing Associate to manage the claims process, including accurate and timely claim creation, follow-up and correspondence with providers, insurance inquiries/correspondence and patients. This position will assist in the clarification and development of process improvements and inquiries, assure payments related to patient services from all sources are recorded and reconciled timely in order to maximize revenues.

What You’ll Do:

  • Possess a good understanding of the healthcare industry provider/payer/patient relationships and major payer sources such as Medicare, Commercial, and Medicaid respectively
  • Communicate with patients to identify and process updates or changes to insurance coverage details
  • Perform account eligibility and benefit verification to determine effective coverage periods, resolve coordination of benefits issues, understand policy limitations such as prior authorizations or non-covered services, and identify managed care organization involvement
  • Request documentation when required from Hospitals, facilities etc.,
  • Prepare, review, and transmit accurate primary, secondary, and tertiary claims utilizing the organization’s proprietary billing software, including both electronic and paper claims
  • Research and resolve inquiries, payer details such as prior authorization requirements, claim address, timely filing limitations, and fee schedules to improve claim accuracy and compliance
  • Document all account related activities performed in the organizations operating system to effectively manage activities across many accounts for multiple work streams

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as Proper phone etiquette
  • DME experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic with analytical, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to use Google tools such as Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations, Gmail, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change as well as help others in need
